Recent articles in The Cockpit
The Cockpit magazine was first published in 1964. Its forerunner was Chislehurst Resident, which was first produced in 1961. Initially Cockpit covered both topical and historical information, but in 1994 The Chislehurst Report was launched to cover topical information, leaving Cockpit to concentrate on the rich history of Chislehurst.
It is now published twice yearly, and is distributed free to members. We have recently revamped the format, and would welcome your thoughts on the new look.
The Winter 2009 edition includes:
- the second of two articles celebrating our 75th anniversary,
- an extract from the memoirs of Leonard Parrington, who lived as a child in Kemnal Road, and
- a tribute to Alun and Joy Jones by Roy Hopper
