The Chislehurst Society Environmental Awards 2017

The theme for the Environmental Awards 2017 is 'Rural and Urban Chislehurst'.

Let your imagination run wild and show the best of our most special and distinctive urban and rural features and architecture. Cash prizes to be won for you and your school!

Entries to be received by the Chislehurst Society at Chislehurst Methodist Church, Prince Imperial Road on Friday, 28th April 2017 between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Prizes will be awarded on Thursday, 18th May 2017 at Chislehurst Methodist Church from 6.00pm.

Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form.

Bullers Wood Open Day

Bullers Wood School

We are thrilled to advise that the School will be opening their gates for our members to take a look at this wonderful site. Tours will start with a talk in the School Library, followed by a woodland bluebell walk to Inglewood and then afternoon tea will be served in the Orangery. There will also be some stalls selling arts and crafts.


Regular coffee mornings at Chislehurst Library.

Free informal talks given by members of The Chislehurst Society history group. Come along, relax over a morning cuppa and share your stories too.

6th July 2017 - Gorillas in the Congo, by Bridget Wedderburn.

7th September 2017 - The Story of Bullers Wood 1860 to present day, by Helen Van Teutem.


Coffee Mornings at the Old Chapel

Every Wednesday morning we host a coffee morning at The Old Chapel in Queens Passage from 9.30am til 12pm. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the scrummy home made cakes from April's Kitchen.  
£2.50 suggested donation; there will be displays of local interest, sometimes we'll put on short talks or a film, maybe even a quiz or game.  Sometimes business representatives explaining local services.  
Pop in off the high street for a cuppa and a friendly chat, let's get our community together!

Chislehurst Clean-up days

Meet at the Old Chapel Car Park at 10am. Litter pickers and bin-bags provided. Refreshments and cakes served by way of thank you!

Society History Group

The History Group, for members who wish to be active participators in research and publication of local history and heritage matters, meets on the first Monday of each month at 7.30pm.

A new afternoon group has now also been set up for a monthly get together on Thursday afternoons 2pm til 4.30pm.

Events in Scadbury Park - except where otherwise specified

Friends of Scadbury Park workdays take place on the third Saturday of the month, and the first Thursday of each month. Tools and other equipment will be provided as well as training.
