How can you support the Society?
The Society is entirely dependent on support from its members and the general public.
We pride ourselves on being among the largest civic societies or amenity groups in the UK; our membership stands at around 4,000. Membership fees have been kept low at £5 per household (£3 where all members of the household are retired), so that they are affordable. Members receive free copies of the Chislehurst Report and Cockpit, and can attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting. Members are also invited to attend our various functions.
You do not need to be resident in Chislehurst to be a member; you can be a postal member, as are many people around the world. For postal members we charge £6 per annum, a modest additional amount to cover postage costs.
If you wish to become a member, click here for our online membership application. You can also contact us by phone or post if you prefer.
Donations and bequests
We are also pleased to accept donations and bequests, and if you would like to talk to us about giving to us to support our work, then please contact us, so that we can discuss the most effective means of doing this. We can advise on gift aid arrangements, and on appropriate wording if you are drawing up a will.
