Chislehurst Bridge closure

Bridge

Work is about to commence to replace Chislehurst Road Bridge. The bridge will definitely close for about a year on the 7th November to all vehicular traffic, although some work may commence before then. Completion of the work is expected by Autumn 2012.

The bridge will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists for most of that period, with only sporadic full closure when dangerous work is being undertaken; hopefully at night time.

There will be new and clear signage indicating the road is closed on both sides, with diversionary signs via Leesons Hill, Cray Avenue and Poverest Road.

Bromley Council held a public meeting in Chislehurst last month, and a copy of the presentation used at that meeting is attached. There was a separate presentation from the contractors, Hochtief, which is also attached.
