Chislehurst Cricket Club - 115 year old pavilion repairs

The pavilion at the Cricket Ground was built in the 1890s in a pronounced rustic style using timber from the Common. Weather and vandalism have required regular and expensive repairs and maintenance, but it has become clear in recent years that more substantial work was needed to some external parts of the pavilion. The Chislehurst & West Kent Cricket Club asked The Chislehurst Society for financial support to enable this work to be done, and the Society was pleased to be abe to help maintain this historic and familiar landmark. The work has commenced and should be completed by early April 2011.
