Funding for a youth shelter at Edgebury
We need your votes please!!
The Chislehurst Youth Forum is looking to install a youth shelter in the Edgebury area of Chislehurst and we need the funds to do so. We have been approved by the NatWest Community Force 2011 funding scheme which allows us to bid for up to £6,000 but to secure the money we need votes! Please show your support and add your vote!
To vote go to http://communityforce.natwest.com/project/1270
Please note that you have to register an email in order to vote and validation appears to be slow – so follow the directions, and please be patient!
Another way to vote is to go to http://communityforce.natwest.com/projects/ and type in The Chislehurst Society in the project name box (we are project no 1270) - an icon appears on the map to the right, click on this and then click more to submit your vote
The decision to have a shelter has been reached after discussions with our local safer neighbourhood team and in consultation with many other interested parties. We have to address the need for having somewhere safe for young people to hang out where they can enjoy their own company. If they gather on the streets, this can be seen as intimidating to other residents. Youth shelters have proven to cut down on anti social behaviour.
The shelter will be located well away from housing to keep noise nuisance to an absolute minimum, but will still be in an open, visible space so that it is safe. We shall be consulting with residents in due course to allay any fears they may have.
PLEASE VOTE NOW! AND PASS THIS ON SO THAT WE CAN GET AS MANY VOTES AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
The Chislehurst Youth Forum is a joint initiative by representatives from a number of Chislehurst organisations, charities and action groups with an interest in supporting young people's needs in the Chislehurst area. Contact us for more information.
